The ITF announced the approval of a phased prize money increase for ITF tennis tournaments in the upcoming years.

The ITF board of directors is convinced that the phased prize money increase will have a positive effect for all players on the ITF tour without going into detail:
The ITF Board of Directors has taken an important step forward by increasing prize money levels at Circuit tournaments.
Combined with a targeted approach to set weekly tournament numbers, these increases will have a considerable and positive effect on players at all levels of the game.
Prize Money Changes ITF Men’s Circuit
The prize money for entry-level $10,000 tournaments will not increase in 2016 but in 2017 to $15,000.
The $15,000 tournaments will already be increased to $25,000 in 2016.
Additional spikes in prize money are planned for 2018 and currently discussed.
Here’s a quick summary:
- $10,000 (2015) will increase to $15,000 in 2017
- $15,00 (2015) will increase to $25,000 in 2016
Phased Prize Money Increase ITF Women’s Circuit
The prize money for entry-level $10,000 tournaments will not increase in 2016 but in 2017 to $15,000, and $15,000 tournaments will be eliminated completely.
The $25,000 events remain unchanged, for the $50,000 tournaments you will see an increase in 2017 to $60,000.
For the $75,000 tournaments you see an increase in 2017 to $90,000 and the $100,000 tournaments will be increased to $125,000 in 2017.

It is still going to be a tough road ahead, especially on the ITF Mens’s Circuit. On the other hand, it’s a great motivation to get to the next level, the ATP Challenger Tour, within 2 years.
